Founder Notes · The JOAT Journal
Why JOAT, Why Now?
The work existed long before the website did.

The honest answer
The website is new. The work is not.
One of the hardest questions to answer has been, “Why now?”
The cleanest answer is that true luxury, real value, and trusted access do not appear overnight. They are built through years of judgment, relationships, adaptation, mistakes corrected quickly, and promises followed all the way through.
Where it started
Every role kept becoming bigger than the title.
Some of the earliest opportunities began in childcare and family support. The work rarely stayed there.
Families and executives noticed the same thing again and again: the person trusted with the children could also see the calendar problem, the vendor gap, the travel conflict, the household bottleneck, the unfinished project, and the detail nobody else had followed through on.
Responsibilities naturally expanded into executive calendars, household systems, staffing, travel, renovations, events, confidential correspondence, budgets, and full operations.

Learning from the inside
Exposure matters. Direct responsibility matters more.
Working inside high-performing homes and executive environments created access to how successful people structure decisions, protect time, manage teams, prepare for travel, communicate expectations, and recover when plans change.
That learning did not come from watching from the edge. It came from being responsible for real outcomes, asking questions, earning trust, receiving direct mentorship, and building relationships that continued beyond one job or season.
JOAT carries those lessons forward without publishing private names, confidential details, or another client’s personalized materials.
What more than a decade built
Why JOAT
Because one title kept leaving too much out.
Private assistant was true, but incomplete. Household manager was true, but incomplete. Executive support, luxury concierge, creative direction, event planning, travel, and project management were all true, and still incomplete.
Jenica of All Trades became the only name broad enough to hold the actual experience without forcing it into a smaller box.

Why now
Because the right clients need to see the full picture.
The website creates a clearer path for people whose needs do not fit neatly inside one service label. It gives JOAT control over the standard, the scope, the relationships, and the way the work is explained.
It also makes room for the company to continue changing, enhancing, learning, adapting, and growing without pretending the work was invented for a launch.
