A rare early look

I usually do not tell you what JOAT is building until it is already built.

Consider this the exception. Custom memory books, event scrapbooks, legacy keepsakes, and personalized life guidebooks are becoming a larger part of what JOAT can create.

The idea started with something deeply personal: a memory-support book I made for my grandfather as his memory began changing with age. I wanted something beautiful enough to feel like an heirloom and useful enough to help him feel grounded, known, and connected to the life he built.

The book that started it

Not a clinical binder. Not a sad goodbye book.

The book was built around the people, places, faith, stories, routines, relationships, and details that matter most. It included family information, names and connections, meaningful reminders, and pages designed to make a full life easier to recognize and revisit.

That project showed me how powerful a thoughtfully organized book can be. A memory-support guide can preserve dignity and bring familiarity. A family archive can hold stories that would otherwise remain scattered across phones, boxes, and people’s heads.

The scrapbook deserves a comeback

We take more photos than ever and preserve fewer of them properly.

I feel like old-school scrapbooks quietly disappeared, and I am trying to bring them back without making them feel dusty or overly precious.

For my son’s birthday, we took the photos and turned them into a book that felt like the celebration could come home with us. That is the part I love: the book is not only something you look at later. It can become part of the actual event.

An activity, favor, décor piece, and archive

My favorite projects do more than one job.

For future events, JOAT can provide the books, instant cameras, prompts, supplies, and structure. Guests can take pictures around the party, add notes and pages on-site, or take a kit home and finish it later.

The result can function as an interactive activity during the event, a thoughtful party favor, part of the décor, and a tangible record of the people who were actually there. That is the best kind of event spending to me: one idea doing several jobs beautifully instead of buying five disconnected things.

Beyond events

If the story matters, we can build a book around it.

JOAT can create luxury photo books, family histories, milestone albums, custom journals, birthday and wedding keepsakes, memory-loss support guides, legacy archives, and deeply personal gifts for friends, parents, grandparents, and loved ones.

Each one is custom-built from the ground up. That may include family photos, important contacts, favorite scriptures, daily routines, addresses, family updates, inside jokes, favorite foods, career milestones, loved ones who have passed, and reminders of the life someone built.

Because a full life deserves to be remembered beautifully.
